Helping you create the life you want to live.
Meet Courtney Salamone, licensed therapist in San Diego.
MY APPROACH
Supporting you with the integration of compassion, humor, curiosity, and authenticity.
You feel like you’re drowning under the pressures of life—although it looks to others like you have it all together. You’re someone who wants to go deeper, to understand yourself and your story better. You want to experience a life with less anxiety and more presence.
In many ways, it’s easier to stay guarded—to avoid your inner world, to stay comfortable with the discomfort. I want therapy to be a space where you feel safe enough to let your guard down. My first priority when we start working together is building a sense of safety in our relationship—so that being open, honest, and supported starts to feel like the norm.
I bring compassion and curiosity to our work together, creating a space where you can explore the beliefs you’ve been carrying about yourself. I want to help you clarify your values—and support you in bringing greater awareness to the unknown parts of you that guide your decisions, thoughts, and relationships.
My hope is that therapy will be a place where you grow, not stay the same. I often ask my clients, “Can I challenge you a bit here?” I want you to feel safe and supported as you unlearn the patterns and responses that keep you feeling stuck.
Wondering if I’m the right therapist for you?
You’ve been pushing through on your own, but now you’re ready for support. You’ve spent time examining your thoughts, and you’ve tried to improve your relationship, but you’re getting stuck. It’s easy to become overly focused on the way you think about things— which can leave you feeling like you have awareness of your thoughts without real change or progress. I know everyone’s story is different, so I use a flexible approach that helps you make sense of your thoughts, work through emotions, and feel more grounded in your body. This supports a deeper connection to yourself.
I’m a collaborative therapist who leads with empathy. My goal is for you to leave each session feeling understood and supported, but also gently challenged in ways that facilitate growth. Together, we’ll explore the patterns of how you relate to yourself and others—unlearning what no longer serves you and creating space for more authentic connections.
I’ve spent seasons in my life struggling to be vulnerable. The more I tried to show up as perfect—the more disconnected and alone I felt. I deeply understand how freeing it can be to be yourself in relationships where you feel safe. I also know the courage it takes to get there. I hope to help you deepen your self-awareness, to be honest with yourself— and feel safe in your relationships. I can guide you in learning the tools that help you move from feeling stuck and fearful to confident and connected. And ultimately living a life where you can be fully present and connected to what matters most to you.
Specialties
Couples Therapy
Many couples find themselves stuck in the same recurring arguments, struggling to reach a place of understanding, healing, or resolution. I help couples slow down, get to know their attachment dynamics on a deeper level, and create a roadmap for more consistent, healthy, and productive communication within the relationship.
Work-Related Anxiety
Work is a big part of life, but it can also bring a lot of stress, uncertainty, and anxiety. High expectations, tough coworkers, and imposter syndrome can really take a toll. Together, we can explore these challenges and find strategies to help you build a healthier, more balanced relationship with work.
Relationship Anxiety
Relationship anxiety can feel overwhelming—like you’re constantly second-guessing yourself, worrying about saying the wrong thing, or fearing the people you care about might pull away. In our work together, we’ll gently explore the deeper patterns beneath those fears and support you in building more trust in yourself and your relationships.
Low self-esteem can make it hard to trust yourself, speak up for your needs, or feel confident in who you are. You might find yourself doubting your worth or holding back in ways that don’t feel true to you. In our work together, we’ll gently uncover the beliefs that have shaped how you see yourself and move toward a more compassionate, empowered sense of who you are.
